Project: Mother's Day - Dessert edition

We had an all day Mother's day celebration this year. While we did have savory items (utterly delicious pot roast and orzo), the desserts were the most fun.

Rhubarb custard pie (tasty, a bit sweet, needs something a bit acidic to perk it up, I think).

First batch of homemade vanilla ice cream (dead simple, looking forward to making some with a real vanilla bean).

"Real" strawberry shortcake. I love the strawberry juice soaked bottom cakes.
