Embroidered Roses Quilt
This is an idea a long time in the making - I bought a bolt of rose covered chintz several years ago, and had a pretty rose colored sheet and a package of batting in my crafts closet. My idea was to make it for my friend's baby daughter. That was 18 months ago . . .
Having finally finished another long promised baby quilt when the babe was over a year old (I need to get real and start calling them toddler quilts) I pulled my materials for this quilt out of the closet and started cutting and pinning.
My idea was to quilt around the edge of the roses - to make them a little 3D and also to create a shadow of their shapes on the back. I like not having to piece together a patchwork top, or to to use the machine to quilt it.
I'll have to see if the original recipient would still like a quilt, or if this is destined for a new baby.
