After my brief foray into frozen cookie dough logs, I had a brain storm that I could freeze chocolate chip cookie dough into little lumps and bake a few at a time whenever I wanted (yes, I am the reincarnation of a 1950's housewife).
I googled this idea to make sure I wasn't crazy and came along the website Joy of Baking. The writer seems to have a bunch of good recipes (including how to freeze cookie dough) and she usually includes a bit of history behind the food, as well at the metric measurements of ingredients, which I love. The American method of measuring dry goods in cups is never, ever, exact.
To freeze the dough you simply make your dough, cover a cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper, drop the dough in normal sized lumps, and freeze. When they are solid, slip them off the paper and p lace in a freezer bag. They may take alittle longer to bake. I'll let you know how a once frozen cookie turns out.
